We often start thinking seriously about our future only when we have to. Yet some of the most important decisions are worth making much earlier. Preparing for the future is not only about saving money, but also about making conscious choices around the financial, family and legal situations we may face throughout our lives. What do Hungarians’ saving habits tell us about how we prepare for the future? How do we plan for our health, our family’s security or our retirement years? And what legal decisions can help us protect ourselves and the people closest to us? Whether it is an unexpected life event, financial security later in life or the future of our family, forward planning is often most valuable before it becomes urgent. Together with experts from the Hungarian Chamber of Civil Law Notaries and OTP Pénztárak, we explore how thoughtful planning can help ensure that, in life’s most important moments, our own decisions and wishes remain in control.

Where does animal protection in Hungary stand today, why do cases of abuse so often go without consequences, and what can we do to reduce the suffering of both farmed animals and companion animals? The discussion will explore the challenges and opportunities of rescuing pigs, the connection between animal cruelty and violence against people, and the realistic progress we can expect in effective animal protection by 2030.

Farming Without Animals – A Blueprint for a Just and Sustainable Food System
On stage
julia weible peta vegán summit
Julia Weibel
Moderator
Animal agriculture is one of the most resource-intensive and inefficient production systems of our time. It threatens the livelihoods of both humans and animals, leads to injustice, environmental degradation and billions of deaths, and—since we have alternatives—can no longer be ethically justified. By adopting a vegan diet, people want to take a stand against this suffering and destruction. However, even the cultivation of fruits and vegetables is linked to animal suffering and exploitation through the use of manure. One solution lies in vegan organic farming. To demonstrate that Germany can become self-sufficient through vegan organic farming and to highlight the benefits this would bring, PETA Germany has published the strategic plan “Phasing Out Livestock Farming.” It provides decision-makers with measures for successfully transitioning to animal-free agriculture – and activists with solid demands for a food system that is just, healthy, and sustainable for everyone.

What Our Guests Said in 2025

One of the main reasons I decided to attend was that Hungary had never had a vegan summit of this scale before.

The announced talks and workshops looked really interesting and useful.
The exhibitors really went above and beyond. There were great tastings, and the welcome bag was incredibly exciting.

Everyone was kind and helpful. We had great conversations with so many people, learned a lot, and there was an amazing variety of exhibitors.
The welcome bag was bombastic, the lunch was fantastic, and we tasted so many delicious things at the exhibitor stands.

We practically got the full value of our ticket back — and even more — through the gifts, lunch, coffee and prize draw. You could really feel that Prove had put the audience first.
I loved the variety of topics. It wasn’t just about veganism itself, but also lifestyle, sustainability and so much more.

Every talk was high quality, and the topics were very well chosen.
What I loved most was the vegan vibe — the empathy, the thoughtful and friendly people, and the genuinely safe atmosphere.
I hope the event keeps growing. It felt like one of the first opportunities for this small community to really come together, build connections, grow stronger and move forward.

It’s incredible that someone had the vision to make this happen. I was honestly holding back tears because I was so moved to see an event like this become reality.
Fantastic organization, great exhibitors and meaningful conversations and talks. Amazing lunch and wonderful gifts.

Beautiful venue, clean and welcoming, with such a friendly atmosphere. 10/10!
All the exhibitors did fantastic work, they were very kind.

The prize draw was fun, but the talks and panel discussions had the greatest impact on me.

Vegan Summit Budapest is Hungary’s leading vegan event and one of Europe’s largest vegan gatherings, created as part of World Vegan Month. It brings together a high-quality conference experience with plant-based food, internationally recognized speakers, leading Hungarian experts, workshops, networking, exhibitors and a prestigious awards ceremony — all in one day.
No live stream is planned. One of the most valuable parts of Vegan Summit is the opportunity to connect in person with like-minded people, leading experts, public figures and athletes. If you can, we encourage you to experience the event live in Budapest.
